 Running Wild
Linville Falls, centerpiece of Linville Gorge National Wilderness Area, plunges 90 feet into the deepest river gorge in the eastern United States. A network of hiking trails, accessible near Blue Ridge Parkway milemarker 316, allows visitors to explore a rugged region Cherokee Indians called Eeseeoh which means "river of cliffs."
