 The Golden Age
A mountain farmstead beneath Humpback Rocks lies quietly along the Blue Ridge Parkway near milemarker 6. This site features some ingenious contraptions, like a weasel-proof chicken house and a bear-proof hog pen, as well as more traditional structures - cabin, root cellar, barn and spring house - typical of an 1890s mountain farm.
