This custom crafted collectible was etched from artwork provided by Eastern National, handcrafted in plate palladium and made in the U.S.A. Each mile of the Blue Ridge Parkway incorporates innovative and enduring design, enginieering, and construction techniques that harmonize with the southern Appalachian landscape. However, the Linn Cove Viaduct is an internatinally recognized symbol of pride to landscape architects and engineers for its marriage of beauty with utility and habitat protection. Probably one of the most complex bridges ever built, this 1243 foot long "S" shaped structure is composed of precast segments assembled from the topside of the structure itself to protect the streams, rugged boulder field and unique ecosystem of the surrounding Grandfather Mountain. Sometimes referred to as "The Missing Link", the Linn Cove Viaduct was the final section of the Blue Ridge Parkway to be completed, in 1987.
